ADDRESS TO ALL
All
praises and adorations be to Allah (SWT) the Lord of the worlds, we beseech His
blessings upon the noblest of mankind, RosuuluLlaah (SAW), his households, companions
and the generality of the Muslims following his path till the day of
recompense.
Muslim
students' society of Nigeria University college hospital, MSSN-UCH is a Muslim
body in the college of medicine, UCH that seeks into the affairs of all the
muslim students studying health related courses across the various schools in UCH
which include: SON, PON, MBBS, BDS, SHIM, FFS, CHO, Physiotherapy, BMLS.
There
are some points we need to note:
Firstly,
serving Allah and remembering Him regularly should be our watchword as our main
primary assignment on this surface of the earth is to worship Allah. And by putting
Him first in all we do, that is how our hearts will find peace. Allah says:
[Q51:56]
“And
I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should serve me”.
Secondly,
in MSSN-UCH unity is our utmost priority, a society without unity never lasts
long. We do things together, together everyone achieves more because there is
beauty in togetherness. Assist your brother or sister if he or she is lacking
in one aspect or the other be it academically, deen-wise or even financially if
you are capable. Never have hatred for your brethren, love them, hate their bad
actions, try to correct it politely if you can in order for them to attain a
level of piety.
The
prophet (SAW) said: 'None of you is a (true) believer until he loves for his
brother what he loves for himself'.
Also,
our academics is very important as this is the reason we are called Muslim
students. Our primary assignment in this institution is our academics, it would
be best if we worked towards excellence. Malpractice should be avoided by all
means, it is a bad act and is frowned at in Islam. Muslims, verily, are known
and should be known for excellence
In
addition, keeping good friends and asking questions about what is not clear
will go a long way in promoting our understanding of some things. Hence, I implore
us all to adhere to this and try our best not to deviate from achieving this
aim (academic excellence and spiritual soundness).
Lastly,
our participation in the activities of MSSN will not only grant us reward from
our Lord but will also bring about self-development. Going on visitations to
the hospitals, prison yard and motherless babies homes is part of the
charitable acts that are carried out and a sense of fulfillment usually is the
end result. We can also develop our writing skills by joining Al-llaaj, the
press arm of the society or develop our business experience by venturing into
Al-Falaah ventures.
In
all, there is a lot to gain if we decide to become active member sof MSSN.
We
pray Allah (SWT) grant us the best in this life and in the hearafter.
Aameen.
