MSSN UCH Completes Handing Over Ceremony, Welcomes New Leadership
The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), University College Hospital (UCH) branch, has successfully completed its handing over ceremony, marking the transition to a new administrative tenure for the 1446 AH Islamic calendar year. The transition process commenced with the Joint Transition Conference, held on Wednesday, 11th of June 2025, effectively closing the chapter on the 1445/46 AH tenure, which ran from January 2024 to June 2025. The outgoing administration, led by Ameer Ajibade Abulqudus, presented a detailed report of its stewardship. Reports included administrative updates, financial accountability, and summaries from various sub-units such as Al-Ansar. Notable officers who gave presentations included the General Secretary, Financial Secretary, and Chairmen of the respective arms of the society.
The official Handing Over (Inauguration and Orientation) Ceremony took place on Saturday, 14th of June 2025. The theme of the event was drawn from a profound Qur’anic verse—Surah Al-Hajj 22:41, which served as the memory verse for the occasion:
ٱلَّذِينَ إِن مَّكَّنَّٰهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَقَامُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُاْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَمَرُواْ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ وَنَهَوۡاْ عَنِ ٱلۡمُنكَرِۗ وَلِلَّهِ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡأُمُورِ
"Those who, if We give them authority in the land, establish prayer and give zakāh and enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. And to Allāh belongs the outcome of all matters."
This verse served as a reminder of the sacred responsibility that comes with leadership.
Meet the New Executives
The new administration is led by Ameer Sabitu Abdulrahman, who previously served as the acting Naibul Ameer and Director of Studies, where he played a pivotal role in coordinating the madrasah activities within UCH.
Brother Dhikrullah Muritala continues his impactful service as Chairman of Al-Falaah, the business arm of the Society. He served in an acting capacity throughout much of the previous tenure.
Brother Jamiu Abdul Kareem, another key figure from the previous administration, now assumes the role of Chairman of Al-Ansar—the humanitarian and outreach division of the Society responsible for organizing blood drives, hospital and orphanage visitations, and other service-oriented programs.
The editorial wing, Al-Ilaaj, will now be headed by Editor-in-Chief, Saka Muhammad.
All newly appointed officers have been encouraged to thoroughly study the Bye-Laws of the Society and maintain close communication with their predecessors to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of purpose.
Call for Support and Prayers
As the new team begins its journey of service, members and well-wishers are urged to uphold the executives in their prayers and support them wholeheartedly. The task of leadership is one of trust and sacrifice, and the success of this administration depends on the collective commitment of all members.
May Allah (SWT) guide the new leadership, grant them wisdom, and make this tenure fruitful and beneficial for the entire UCH MSSN ummah. Aameen.
